Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is located in the southwest of Iceland and is one of the most visited places in the country. It is an immense geothermal spa with turquoise waters located near a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula. It is a unique and pleasant experience as you swim in waters that are about 37ºC, with an outside temperature of 10ºC. Bláa lónið, as it is called in Icelandic, was accidentally discovered in the late seventies and is world renowned for the medicinal properties of its waters, especially for helping people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis.
