The Court of the Myrtles

The Court of the Myrtles (Spanish: Patio de los Arrayanes) is part of the palace and fortress complex of the Alhambra in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. This fabulous palace was originally built by Emir Yusuf I, and thereafter served as the private residence for the ruler. The Court of the Myrtles is named after the myrtle bushes that surround the central pond and the bright green colour of which contrasts with the white marble of the patio.
