Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is undoubtedly the most famous symbol of New York. This colossal statue at 46 metres high (93 counting from ground to torch) is located on Liberty Island. The statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor, was a gift to the United States from the people of France to commemorate the 100 years of the American Declaration of Independence.
