Seoul, officially the Seoul Special City, is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea. The city is the core of the metropolitan area of Seoul, which includes the neighbouring city of Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, the second largest metropolitan area in the world with over 25 million inhabitants. The South Korean capital was voted the most popular tourist destination in the world for Chinese, Japanese and Thai tourists for three consecutive years (2009-2011) and, with more than 12 million international visitors in 2013, it is the 10th most visited city in the world.
