Prague Castle
The Prague Castle is located in the Hradčany district of Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.
The castle is one of the most important buildings of the city. It was founded in the ninth century and currently serves as the presidential residence, formerly inhabited by kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. Its interior hosts the Basilica of Saint George and the Basilica of St. Vitus, the Powder Tower or Mihulka, the old Royal Palace, Dalibor Tower, Lobkowicz Palace, the Golden Lane and galleries of Renaissance and Baroque paintings, among many other things.
The Prague Castle, according to the Guinness World Records Book, is considered to be the largest castle in the world due its area of 72,500 m².
