Garibaldi Lake in British Columbia, Canada
2014-09-28
Garibaldi Lake

Garibaldi Lake is a turquoise-coloured alpine lake located in western British Columbia, Canada. The lake is located in the protected area of Garibaldi Provincial Park which is home to mountains, glaciers, trails, forests, flowers, meadows and waterfalls.
Northwest of the lake but also near its western shore is where several campgrounds and day-use shelters are located. During the summer, access is limited to a large part of the eastern side of the lake since no trails have been constructed along the steep and unstable slopes which plunge directly into the lake. In winter, the lake is frozen from late December to late April which allows skiers and hikers equipped with snowshoes to walk around the area.
