The Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is the name given to a set of about 40 000 entirely embedded prismatic basalt columns forming a huge sidewalk of gigantic stones. It is located on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, about 3 kilometers north of the town of Bushmills. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Some of the structures in the area, having been subject to several million years of weathering, resemble objects, such as the Organ and Giant's Boot structures.
