Attabad Lake

Attabad Lake, also known as Gojal Lake, is a lake located in the Gojal Valley in Pakistan. The lake was created on January 4, 2010 due to a landslide that killed twenty people as well as blocking the Hunza river course for five months. The lake reached 21 km in length and over 100 metres in depth by the first week of June 2010 when it began flowing over the landslide dam, completely submerging lower Shishkat and partly flooding Gulmit.
