Old Phuket Town

Old Phuket Town in Phuket City is where you can delight yourself in the island's most splendid architecture where buildings have Sino-Portuguese, colonial and Chinese influences. This quaint town offers a fab afternoon of colourful buildings, local sights, funky shops and enjoyable restaurants. Don't forget your camera.

View Point

The View Point is a top attraction as it is one of the most scenic parts of the island. Found midway between Nai Han and Kata beaches you can check out the striking scenes that are Kata Noi, Kata, Karon beaches and Ko Pu island.

Two Heroines Monument

The Two Heroines Monument in Amphoe Thalang is a tall memorial statue remembering the heroines of 1785 that gathered islanders together to prevent a Burmese invasion. The heroines, two sisters known as Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon, brought together what forces and manpower were available including women dressed as male soldiers to increase military power. After one month, tired invaders retreated and Phuket was left in peace.

Thalang National Museum

Situated near the Two Heroines Monument, the Thalang National Museum was inaugurated in 1985 to mark the 200th anniversary since the Thalang War of 1785 against Burmese invasion of Phuket after the death of its governor. The museum is an excellent exhibition of life in ancient Phuket and contains interesting artefacts, remains and materials found on the coast that were used during the war.

The Big Buddha of Phuket

The Big Buddha of Phuket is a grand white statue located atop a mountain near Phuket Town. 45m in height and covered in white Burmese marble, the Big Buddha is a wonderful spiritual landmark and an even better background for your photos.

Nature in Phuket

The Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Conservation Development and Extension Centre is a brilliant wildlife park that promotes and distributes wildlife in a protected forest. If it were not for this park, these wild animals would be extinct.

The Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insect World is an enchanting butterfly centre and one of the few remaining in all of Thailand.

With Phuket's large percentage of forest lands, trekking, hiking and elephant treks are the most popular of activities that can be enjoyed in Phuket's great outdoors.
