United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel

The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel is located at the United States Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs, USA. It was designed by Walter Netsch of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. The chapel consists of seventeen lines of towers, rising 45 metres high. The spirals are made with frames of steel pipe, using one hundred identical tetrahedrons, each 75 feet (23 m) long, weighing five tons, and enclosed with clear aluminum panels. Between the tetrahedra, the architects installed coloured glasses, which emphasizes even more its "outer space" appearance.
