Lantern Floating Hawaii

Taking place annually, since 1999, is Hawaii's Lantern Floating Festival. On Memorial Day, celebrated every last Monday of May, over 3000 decorated lanterns are released into the sea in memory of loved ones who served their country as well as those of others who have passed away.
Messages to loved ones are written on the sides of the lanterns forming a beautiful landscape. Sunset contrasts with the lanterns becoming a thrilling spectacle.
