The inside of the Colosseum
The Colosseum, also known as Flavian Amphitheatre, is an amphitheatre built in the period of ancient Rome. The name Colosseum has long been believed to be derived from a colossal statue of Nero nearby. Located in central Rome, is an exception among the amphitheaters by volume and architectural importance. Originally capable of housing close to 50 000 people, and being 48 feet high, it was used for various shows.
