Hawa Mahal ("Palace of Winds" or "Palace of the Breeze") is a palace located in Jaipur, India. The palace was built in 1799 and served as an extension of the Zenana or women's chambers, the chambers of the harem. The original function of the building was to allow Royal women to observe the daily life of the streets of the city without being seen.
