Ko Phi Phi

Scenic seascape of Ko Phi Phi, Thailand

Known as one of Thailand's greatest and most famous sandy treasures, Ko Phi Phi of Krabi Province is an archipelago consisting of six islands known as Ko Phi Phi Don; Ko Phi Phi Leh; Ko Mai Phai; Ko Yung; Bida Nok and Bida Nai.

Ko Phi Phi really does deliver all the natural beauty you would expect from a tropical destination yet this one was made all the more fantastical after the island of Ko Phi Phi Leh appeared in the 2000 blockbuster movie The Beach starring Leonardo Dicaprio. Wishing you were there already, right?

Things to see and do

Apart from the expected sunbathing and total chilling out, the list of things to see and do in Ko Phi Phi is surprisingly long for those that want a little more action on their holiday. Although Ko Phi Phi Don is its only inhabited island, you can tour the remaining islands by day. Discover extraordinary viewpoints, limestone pinnacles, prehistoric caves, vibrant coral reefs, marine life, and exotic bays; explore a range of exciting activities you may not get the chance to do back home like diving, snorkelling, rock climbing, kayaking, cliff jumping, sailing, and cruising; or try something that will help you bring the calm and balance back to your inner self through yoga classes or what usually does the trick...a day or two in a spa.

Despite its tranquil characteristics by day, Ko Phi Phi does have its fair share of excellent nightlife given its popularity among backpackers. Phi Phi Don, the largest island and only populated one as already mentioned, has plenty of social activity plus locations offering variety in traditional Thai food and drinks. Grab your friends or your loved one and end the evening on the beach whilst watching a warm serene sunset in the horizon. A sight you won't want to miss night after night!

Where to Stay?

Accommodation is only available on the inhabited island of Ko Phi Phi Don which is the most developed of all islands. Here you will find great resorts with private tourist bungalows, spas, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, internet cafés and small kiosks.
