Moray

Moray is located near Cusco, Peru. At first glance it seems like an amphitheatre consisting of several circular terraces situated at 3,500 metres above sea level. Moray was possibly an Inca agricultural research centre where crop experiments were conducted at different heights. The disposition of their platforms produces a gradient of microclimates with a higher temperature at the centre of the concentric circular terraces, and gradually decreasing to lower temperatures outward, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different microclimates.
